Tees Operation Giant Hogweed – Volunteer
About the Project
This project benefits from the goodwill of volunteers as well as local and vested interest groups. Our aim is to provide opportunities for people to get involved with the management, maintenance, restoration and care of their river.
We appreciate every single volunteer and we need your help. The bigger our volunteer team gets, the more we can do to protect our landscape and health from this dangerous invasive non native plant.
Help us to combat Giant Hogweed by playing a significant role in:
- Mapping its distribution
- Controlling the spread, including chemical application
- Maintaining access to the riverbank and other areas inaccessible due to Giant Hogweed
- Raising awareness
All relevant training will be given.
Volunteering gives you the opportunity to make a real difference.
You will learn new skills.
It will enhance your employment prospects.
You can meet new people and make new friends.
Working outside is beneficial to your health.
It’s not a job, so you are in control of how often and what you volunteer for.
